Japan Airlines (JAL) was launched in 1951 and offered the first private domestic airline service in post-war Japan. Today JAL flies to 240 destinations in over 33 countries worldwide with an extensive network of routes within the Far East, South East Asia and to cities further afield in Australia, Pacific, North America, South America and Europe. JAL operates a fleet of 270 aircraft which it is in the process of renewing with the introduction of more fuel-efficient aircraft including the new Boeing 737 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

Business Class – Executive Class

New lounges have recently been opened at Tokyo’s Narita Airport for Japan Airlines’ First and Executive Class passengers. The luxurious and spacious Sakura Lounge is specifically for Executive Class passengers and features a full range of services including a dining area, business corner and shower/massage room where passengers can enjoy a complimentary full body, scalp or foot massage.

The JAL Executive Class ‘Shell’ flat seat has been designed to enable passengers to relax and make the most of their own personal space. The armrests can be lowered to the same height as the seat when reclined giving passengers additional room to sleep comfortably aided by the footrest and built-in back massager. The Shell flat seat has a seat pitch of 157cm with easy access to the aisle and reclines into a comfortable lie-flat position for sleeping. Other features of the seat include a 10.4 inch personal tv monitor equipped with a vast selection of Audio Video On Demand (AVOD) entertainment such as movies, music and games, noise cancelling headphones, an in-seat laptop power point, adjustable reading light and personal telephone.

JAL’s In-flight dining experience includes a delicious selection of cuisine such as Japanese sushi, Western cuisine, a snack service and self-serve buffet. All food is fresh and seasonal and beautifully presented on elegant tableware.
