Thai Airways is the national carrier of the Kingdom of Thailand and was founded in 1960 in conjunction with Scandinavian Airlines System (SAS). Based in Thailand’s capital, Bangkok, Thai Airways operates domestic, regional and intercontinental flights to over 70 destinations in 34 countries worldwide. In 1997 Thai Airways was a founder member of the Star Alliance, one of the world’s largest integrated airline networks.

Business Class – Royal Silk Class

Thai Airway’s Royal Silk Class offers business class travellers their own exclusive check-in lounge at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport with separate fast-track immigration and a choice of six Royal Silk lounges. The Royal Silk lounges are superbly equipped with comprehensive facilities for relaxation, refreshment or businesses purposes and include Wi-fi access, private meeting rooms and work areas. Other perks for Royal Silk Class passengers include access to Thai Airways and Star Alliance partner airport lounges worldwide and priority reservations and baggage handling.

On board, the separate Royal Silk Class cabin has two-abreast seating with 60 inches of leg room and lie-flat beds which recline to 170 degrees for sleeping. Each seat has individual electric controls and is equipped with an in-flight telephone and laptop power point. The interactive Audio Visual On Demand (AVOD) entertainment system offers literally hundreds of channels with movies, music, cartoons, games and information. The large personal screens have touch-controls and passengers can choose between a wide selection of multi-lingual movies, classic films and popular TV programmes.

Thai Airways Royal Silk passengers also enjoy fantastic hospitality onboard with lavish gourmet meals with a tempting selection of Asia or Western dishes.

For medium and longhaul flights, a complimentary travel kit is available containing a selection of toiletries and cosmetics together with an eye mask, socks and a toothbrush set.
